South Africa’s elite men have enjoyed tremendous success at the African Continental Road Championships.
Heading into the 2021 edition from March 2 to 6 in Cairo, Egypt, a look back at the results from the previous 14 championships makes for pleasing reading from a South African point of view.
ROAD RACE
South Africa have won six gold, five silver and four bronze medals in the road race discipline at previous African champs.
Despite not winning a gold medal, Jay Thomson is the country’s most decorated road race winner with three silvers and a bronze.
