The 2021 African Continental Track Championships roars into action in Cairo, Egypt, today.
The championships will take place over four days to determine the best of the best on the continent.
Qualification rounds for the team sprint and team pursuit will kick off proceedings followed by the women’s junior and elite 500m time-trial.
The opening ceremony will then he held giving riders a breather before the finals of the team sprint and pursuit.
Straight finals for both men and women in the 7.5km and 10km scratch races will close the opening day.
Reports of temperatures reaching up to 31 degrees Celsius inside the velodrome suggests some red-hot action is in store.
