The 2021 edition of the PE Plett mountain bike stage-race will have new winners’ names etched on the trophy.
Speaking to In the Bunch, one half of last year’s men’s winning team, Stuart Marais, confirmed he’s had to withdraw from this year’s race.
“Yes, I have unfortunately had to withdraw after contracting Covid-19 last week,” the 32-year-old said.
“I am rather disappointed as I had a really great build-up over the off-season and was keen to get going with the racing season.”
