Stage three of PE Plett proved potentially decisive in determining the outcome of this year’s four-day stage race.
Having traded wins on the opening two stages with Imbuko Giant pair Marco Joubert and Rudi Koen, stage three belonged to overnight race leaders Matt Beers and Wessel Botha (Typedev-Nanotime).
They crossed the line at the Tsitsikamma Lodge and Spa in a time of 1:58:16 with DSV Pro Cycling’s Jacques Janse van Rensburg and Nicol Carstens taking second in 1:58:21.
Joubert and Koen had to be content with third place in 1:58:46.
