South Africa’s Ryan Gibbons faces a busy week in the Flanders region of Belgium with his UAE Team Emirates.
On Wednesday Gibbons will line up at Dwars door Vlaanderen while on Sunday he will be in action at the Ronde van Vlaanderen, more commonly known as Tour of Flanders.
Dwars door Vlaanderen, which was first held in 1945, will start in Roeselare and finish 184km later in Waregem.
This year’s event will the 75th edition after last season’s race was cancelled due to Covid-19.
Dutch superstar Mathieu van der Poel will defend his title and faces perhaps his fiercest opposition from French world champion Julian Alaphilippe.
