Candice Lill has won the elite women’s individual time-trial title at the SA National Road Championships in Swellendam.
Despite her scintillating recent form on her mountain bike, Lill sprung something of a surprise on the wet roads of the Western Cape town when he beat reigning African Continental time-time champion Carla Oberholzer into second place.
Lill stopped the clock after the 30km route in a time of 47:04 with pre-race favourite Oberholzer 56 seconds behind.
Zanri Rossouw completed the podium in 48:23.
