Ryan Gibbons won his first SA national individual time-trial title in style in Swellendam today.
The 26-year-old reigning road race champion covered the 40km route in a time of 51:24 to beat second-placed Matt Beers by 1:14.
Third place went to Kent Main (53:12) who competed on a borrowed bike after his time-trial machine failed to arrive back in the country following the recent African Continental Road Championships in Egypt.
Defending champion Daryl Impey did not enter the SA nationals.
