Endurance rider, Elfriede Wolfaardt, won the women’s 3km race in 4:31.65 at the Paarl Boxing Day in the Faure Street Stadium today.
Wolfaardt, who also won the 1500m race, went into the Paarl event with her sights set on the longer distances and she prevailed, winning two races and coming second in the other (800m).

Her rival on the day, Magdalene Nicholson, who won the 800m, finished second in the 3km event. She also finished second behind Wolfaardt in the 1500m race.
Heloize Visser rounded out the podium in the 3km event.
