England’s Annie Last won the Commonwealth Games women’s cross-country race at the Nerang Mountain Bike Trails in Gold Coast today.
Last completed the race in 1:18:02, beating compatriot Evie Richards into second by almost a minute. Canadian Hayley Smith rounded out the podium.

South African Mariske Strauss, who placed third overall with Last at the Cape Epic this year, finished seventh with a time of 1:22:50.
In the men’s race, South African Alan Hatherly claimed bronze with a time of 1:17:56.
