Zamuxolo Xatasi has been appointed acting president of Cycling South Africa until the next elective congress in 2020, the federation announced today.

This comes after William Newman’s shock resignation as President in February.
Xatasi, also known as “Yster”, served as vice-president for two years and before that as Youth Transformation and Development chairman for more than two years.
After a call for nominations for the role of president, the executive committee deemed the respective applicants unsuitable.
Secretary-general Gregory van Heerden had filled the role of caretaker president since Newman’s resignation.
