Buchacher will be suspended until March 2, 2020, and she will be “prohibited from competing and administering in the sport of cycling, as well as any other sport in SA and internationally during this time,” Cycling SA said in a statement.
The test confirmed the presence of ESAs, including Recombinant EPOs and Analogues, which violated Article 2.1 and Article 2.2 of the SAIDS Anti-Doping Rules.
Buchacher won the Tour de PPA in late February, before finishing second overall in the Tour of Good Hope on March 9, sixth overall in the Cape Epic alongside Samantha Sanders in late March and third overall in the mixed category of the Winelands MTB Encounter in mid-April.
