There will be a total of 46 South African riders at this year’s African Continental MTB Cross-Country Championships that is taking place in Windhoek, Namibia, this weekend.
Defending champion and U23 cross country world champion Alan Hatherly is included in the elite men’s list, which also features Jan Withaar, who won the Cradle Traverse alongside Ben Melt Swanepoel last weekend, as well as Cape Epic stage winner Philip Buys.

The U23 men’s list include Rossouw Bekker, who launched a SA multi-discipline cycling team this year, as well as 2018 947 MTB Challenge champion Wessel Botha.
Multiple national champ Mariske Strauss is on the women’s elite list and will be joined by Cape Epic stage winner Candice Lill, Herald Cycle Tour champion Tiffany Keep and Cradle Traverse solo women’s winner Sarah Hill.
