Leading South African cyclist Gustav Basson, who was involved in a car accident in July last year, is edging closer to full fitness after putting in a strong performance at the SA national road champs last weekend.

“I don’t think I’ve made my comeback yet,” said Basson, who placed fourth in the elite men’s road race.
