South Africa dominated day one of the 15th African Continental Road Championships in Cairo, Egypt.
The team picked up three golds and one bronze in the four races contested on the opening day of the five-day event.
The junior women got the ball rolling with gold in their team time-trial over 13.5km.
Chante Olivier, Amber Hindmarch, Ainsli de Beer and McKenzie Pedro recorded the fastest time (25:01:60) over the course, edging hosts Egypt into the silver medal position by just under three seconds.
After a delay in the confirmation of the results in the junior men’s team time-trial, South Africa picked up the bronze medal.
