Ariane Lüthi will team up with Austrian Christina Kollmann-Forstner for the Tankwa Trek on Saturday and the Cape Epic in March, her team announced today.
Riding for Team Spur, Luthi, who recently won the Attakwas Extreme MTB Challenge as well as the Simonsberg Contour stage race last weekend, is reportedly already exploring Stellenbosch’s trails with her new teammate.

“The three-day Tankwa Trek mountain bike stage race this weekend will be about adapting to the heat, checking equipment and learning to complement one another’s racing styles,” said the team statement.
The pair will both ride in Team Spur’s colours when they tackle the Tankwa Trek, which was upgraded to UCI S1 status in October last year.
“The pair is also focused on a top result at the Cape Epic,” the statement added.
Lüthi is a three-time Cape Epic winner and a two-time Swiss Marathon champion and she will line up for her seventh Epic this year.
Kollmann-Forstner is the reigning European Marathon champion, two-time Austrian champion and has taken part in the Cape Epic twice before.
