Local eyes will be focused on the South African contingent at the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup in Stellenbosch on March 10.
Provisionally, 30 local riders have entered in total, which consists of 11 elite men riders and five elite women riders, 12 U23 men riders and two U23 women riders.

Included in the latest list released by the International Cycling Union (UCI) is Herald Cycle Tour MTB Race and 99er Cycle Tour winner Gert Heyns, recently crowned Transcape MTB winner Stuart Marais and Philip Buys, who finished third overall at the Tankwa Trek.
Sabie Classic champion Amy McDougall is on the women’s elite list and will be joined by marathon mountain biker Robyn de Groot and cross-country mountain biker Mariske Strauss.
On the U23 list is Alan Hatherly, who recently injured his wrist, and mountain biker Julian Jessop.
Danielle Strydom, who placed third in the Sabie Classic, is included on the women’s side.
Entries close on Monday morning, so the final list will be released on Monday afternoon by UCI.
