South African ended their 2021 African Continental Road Championships campaign on a winning note in the men’s elite and U23 road race today.
Ryan Gibbons, the reigning national road race champion, added African continental gold to his trophy cabinet with victory in the 140km road race around Sheikh Zayed City.
It was Gibbons’ fourth gold of the championships having been part of the elite men’s team time-trial and mixed relay, as well as triumphing against the clock in the individual time-trial.
